The mission of the North West Department of Economy and Enterprise Development is to achieve the development and growth of a well-coordinated, vibrant, diversified and sustainable economy that will create jobs and eradicate unemployment in the North West province.

The Department's strategic goals are: effective, efficient and development-orientated public service and an empowered, fair and inclusive citizenship; transformation of the economic landscape to be inclusive of previously disadvantaged communities, and implementation of enterprise support; positioning of North West as the preferred investment destination and increase of trade activities in the province; regulation of business activities in the province to create a conducive legal, business and socio-economic environment for business prosperity; support and development of the productive sectors in the North West provincial economy; and effective and efficient management of the environment for sustainable use of natural and heritage resources.
