The mission of the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development is to facilitate service delivery through the development, construction and management of public infrastructure so as to optimise the creation of decent jobs and the promotion of a better life for all.
The Department's strategic goals are to improve the technical and administrative capacity of the Department towards an efficient, effective and development-orientated public service and an empowered, fair and inclusive citizenship; expand and maintain public infrastructure to keep abreast of the growing demand for infrastructure to promote development of the province and redress economic disparities; manage the provincial property portfolio for the optimum benefit of all citizens, with an emphasis on maximising access, utilisation and value; and implement and coordinate the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) in a manner that enhances skills development and optimises decent employment and entrepreneurship.
