Overview
The mission of the Free State Provincial Legislature is promoting good governance that serves the interests of the Free Staters. The Legislature's strategic outcome goals are: providing leadership and strategic management in the Free State Legislature, to ensure good governance through compliance with legislation and policies for effective and efficient institution through improvement of institutional governance and technologies, as well as the development of human capital; supporting members and political parties, to create a conducive environment and increase the skills and provide resources to elected members and political parties; lawmaking, conducting oversight over the provincial organs of the state and facilitating public involvement in the processes of the Free State Legislature and its committees, and enhancing quality of oversight on the performance of the provincial organs of state and facilitate public involvement; and supporting the promotion of meaningful international relations, deepening participatory democracy and contributing by participating in the strengthening of multilateralism including reforming global governance architecture and institutions as well as meaningful participation of women on all levels.
